“The Masked Singer” Renewed for Season 2

Fox has renewed The Masked Singer for a second season. 

The show that that pits costume-wearing celebrities against one another in a singing competition is half-way through its first season but has already been renewed for another season. 

The show is based on the Korean show King of Mask Singer. Neither the participants nor judges know who are the celebs are, whose identities are revealed only after they are out. The masked celeb compete in front of a panel of five judges — Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke and host Nick Cannon. 

“The response to The Masked Singer has been fantastic and we are thrilled to bring it back for another season,” said Rob Wade, Fox’s president of Alternative Entertainment and Specials, in a statement. “I am so happy to see a singing Peacock burst into pop culture! The Masked Singer is unique, bold, original, and embraces the DNA of all the best Fox unscripted shows. We look forward to season two being even more fun, weird, and wonderful than the first.”
