20 years after the screening of the groundbreaking sci-fi movie The matrix, old fans and new ones alike will get to experience it again on the big screen.

The sci-fi classic is being released back to the theaters for one week.

To get the experience, fans will have to go to one of 135 Dolby Cinema AMC theaters around the U.S. between August 30th and September 5th.

It seems the celebratory screening serves is a winning opportunity for everyone. The audience gets to relive the experience from 20 years ago – or watch it on the big screen for the first time ever in the case of the younger generation. AMC gets to promote their Dolby technology as this is the first time the movie will be screened with a Dolby Vision picture and Dolby Atmos audio. Warner Bros. gets to cash in once more on the success of the movie and the recent success of the star Keanu Reeves with John Wick 3 and his internet persona.
