The Little Mermaid is one of the most highly-anticipated Disney movies coming our way this spring and the new teaser gave us a glimpse of two major characters. The short 30-second clip doesn’t reveal much of the plot, but it offers the first look at live-action versions of Prince Eric and the film’s main villain, the notorious sea witch Ursula.

The Little Mermaid tells a familiar tale of a beautiful and spirited young mermaid Ariel, who longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea. After being smitten by Prince Eric, she strikes a dangerous deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, while also putting her life under the sea in jeopardy.

The new teaser is just 30 seconds long, but that was just enough time to build the hype for this promising live-action remake. The short clip opens with Halle Bailey delivering a powerful rendition of the song called “Wish”, before giving us the first look at Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.

The Little Mermaid will also star Javier Bardem, Art Malik, Noma Dumezweni, Lorena Andrea, and Simone Ashley, with Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina. The film was directed by Rob Marshall, and it will be released on May 26.
