The cast of the upcoming musical version of the iconic teen comedy Mean Girls is getting more impressive by the day, and another amazing star is ready to jump on board. The Office actress Jenna Fischer will play Cady Heron’s mom in Mean Girls: The Musical.
Fischer rose to prominence while playing Pam Beesly on the hit sitcom The Office, and she’s currently hosting the podcast Office Ladies along with her former co-star Angela Kinsey. Mean Girls: The Musical will mark her first acting role since 2019 when she led the cast of Splitting Up Together.
Fisher will play the mom of Angourie Rice’s character Cady Heron, replacing Ana Gasteyer, who portrayed this character in the original movie. Tina Fey and Tim Meadows are the only cast members set to return, while the rest of the ensemble will include Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Christopher Briney, and Bebe Wood.
Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert starred in the original Mean Girls, and Page Six recently reported they refused to return for the musical due to a “disrespectful” money offer. Seyfried dismissed the rumors during an interview at the SAG Awards, and said all four of them are “100% into it”, but “it’s not really up to [them]” whether they’ll return or not.
