It was recently announced Alessandro Nivola will be taking the lead in the upcoming Sopranos prequel movie, but he’s no longer the only actor attached to this project. Vera Farmiga and Jon Bernthal are also among the actors joining him on this journey.

The Many Saints of Newark will take a look at Tony Soprano’s formative years, before he became one of the most infamous gangsters in New Jersey. It will be set in the era of the Newark riots in the 60s, when racial conflicts in this New Jersey city became lethal for everyone involved.

Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) aren’t the only actors to recently join the cast. The Many Saints of Newark will also star Billy Magnussen (Maniac) and Corey Stoll (House of Cards). It’s still unclear if they’ll play brand new characters or younger versions of the heroes we already know and love.

Emmy winner Alan Taylor will be in charge of directing this project, based on a script by the Sopranos creator David Chase and his frequent collaborator Lawrence Konner.
