The Stooges’ iconic album Fun House is celebrating its 50th anniversary and the band marks the occasion by releasing a new massive box set. The set will be released on July 17th on Rhino.

The box will feature a total of 15 LPs containing all seven tracks of the original album, which was produced by ex-Kingsmen Don Gallucci, newly remastered on two LPs cut at 45 rpm, plus the complete sessions. The complete sessions were released on CDs in 1999 and this is the first time they are released on vinyl.

In addition, the box set will include two 7-inch singles of “Down On the Street”/” I Feel Alright.” Another gem will be a live performance of the band in 1970 in New York City.

There will also be a deluxe edition that will feature a 28-page book, rare photos, liner notes and words by Henry Rollins, Flea, Joan Jett, Thurston Moore, Tom Morello, Steven Van Zandt, Duff McKagan, and others. It will also include posters, prints, and a slipmat. It will be limited to 1,970 numbered copies.

Third Man Records Cass Corridor in Detroit will host an exhibit of the band’s work between July 17th and August 7th.
