The TV Shows We’re Most Looking Forward to in 2021

After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, some of our favorite TV shows are set to return this year and there are some new arrivals we’re equally excited about. While some of these shows haven’t gotten a premiere date yet, we’re hopeful that they will be returning in 2021. Here’s out list of shows we can’t wait to watch.

The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)

The Emmy winning series, which will be returning for its fourth season, is based on the Margaret Atwood novel of the same name. The series follows the story of life in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley star in the series.

WandaVision (Disney+)

The Marvel project we’re most excited about what have to be WandaVision. The Disney+ series will have Wanda Maximoff a.k.a the Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) journey through the landscape of TV sitcoms. The cast also includes Kat Dennings, reviving her role of Darcy Lewis from the Thor movies, and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, who was an FBI agent in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The Witcher (Netflix)

The Witcher, set to return for its second season, centers around a mutated monster-hunter for hire who journeys through the world and finds that people are more wicked than beasts. The show stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan.

Ozark (Netflix)

Starring Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde a financial planner who moves his family from Chicago to the Ozarks who gets involved with money laundering and the Mexican cartel putting him and his family in danger. Also starring in the series are Laura Linney, Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, and Lisa Emery. Ozark returns for a fourth and final season this year.

Barry (HBO)

Barry starring Bill Hader in the titular role is a dark comedy about a hitman who discovers he has a passion for acting when he moves to Los Angeles for a job. Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler also star in the show. Barry will be returning for its third season.
