The Walking Dead has released the first trailer for its final season at San Diego Comic-Con.

The trailer for season 11 has tons of zombie action while featuring fan favorites like Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Gabriel, Ezekiel, and Negan as well as the villainous Reapers and Commonwealth. At one point, Maggie’s wearing a Whispers mask and we see Yumiko in Commonwealth armor.

Season 11 is set to premiere on August 22 and will consist of 24 episodes airing in three parts. Parts two and three will air in 2022.

Joining as Season 11 regulars are Laila Robins, Josh Hamilton, Margot Bingham, and Michael James.

The show was set to premiere in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. Instead, six additional episodes considered part of Season 10 were aired.

“Obviously the pandemic changed a lot of how we had to do everything, but it was really fun to do these focused, intimate episodes for [Season] 10C. Season 11, we’re going to go out with a bang. We’re back to our big, scopey, massive extravaganzas with lots of great character interactions between the people we love…Season 11 we kind of go in hard with some new stories and new characters. I’m really excited to share it with the audience when it’s time,” Angela Kang said at Comic-Con.
