To say The Weeknd was the big winner at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards would be an understatement—he won a whopping 10 awards!

Among them were Top Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Male Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Male Artist, Top R&B Album, Top Radio Song, and Top R&B Song. Following The Weeknd with five awards was the late Pop Smoke. BTS and Bad Bunny won four awards each.

“The after hours are done and the dawn is coming,” The Weeknd said when accepting one of his many awards. For another awards acceptance speech he said, “I’d like to thank God… that I don’t have to wear that red suit anymore.”

Highlights of the night included The Weeknd’s pre-recorded video of “Save Your Tears”, Drake’s speech after receiving Artist of the Decade, Pop Smoke’s mother’s speech, and P!nk’s aerial ballet performance with her nine-year-old daughter Willow for their duet “Cover Me in Sunshine”.
