The 24-hour charitable festival Global Citizen Live is coming our way this fall, and its lineup is as star-studded as it gets. The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, and BTS are only some of the performers set to take part in this event with an aim to fight climate change, famine, and poverty.

In an official statement announcing his involvement in this event, The Weeknd said it will be an honor to perform and help bring support to citizens who are suffering so severely.

“It is very important to me to be a part of this historic event to spread awareness and encourage action toward helping the people of Ethiopia during this devastating humanitarian crisis they are faced with,” stated the Canadian hitmaker.

The Weeknd is one of the biggest stars to take part in this year’s Global Citizen Live, but he’s not the only one. The list of performers will also include the likes of Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Lizzo, Metallica, Lorde, Doja Cat, and many more.

Global Citizen Live will take place on September 25th, with performances being broadcasted live from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America.
