The soundtrack for the upcoming HBO shows The Idol is hitting the shelves later this month, and it will be one star-studded affair! The Weeknd gave us a taste of things to come a few days ahead of the show’s premiere with the A-list collab “Popular” featuring Playboi Carti and Madonna.

The music video for this track was filmed during the show’s recent world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. It features the behind-the-scenes videos of the show’s cast and crew, including The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Blackpink’s Jennie, Rachel Sennott, and director Sam Levinson.

Working with Madonna is a dream come true for The Weeknd, and he’s hoping this collaboration is just the beginning of something great.

“I’ve always wanted to write and produce a Madonna album. Well, co-produce with her, of course… because she’s a visionary and she has such a singular vision. I just want to come into her world and create a classic Madonna album. That was always my dream,” he told Zane Lowe.

The full soundtrack for The Idol will hit the shelves on June 30, and it will also include the previously released lead single “Double Fantasy” ft. Future. The Weeknd co-wrote and co-produced the entire album for this show alongside Metro Boomin and Mike Dean.
