Music specials are all the rage right now, and The Weekend is the latest star to launch his own. He joined forces with Amazon Prime for The Weeknd x Dawn FM Experience, in support of his latest studio album.

The Canadian hitmaker’s music special will premiere on Amazon on February 26th, and he released an official statement explaining what we can expect from it.

“I’m ecstatic to partner with Amazon to premiere the most elaborate live TV special I’ve ever done. Welcome to the next phase of Dawn FM—a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theater, and performance art collide for a night out at the club,” said The Weeknd.

Amazon Prime shared a teaser for this exciting project, showing the older version of The Weeknd roaming the dark streets of an empty city with nothing but sirens keeping him company. The teaser closes with the singer entering an abandoned building and fainting after a bright light shines on his face.

This music special is linked to The Weekend’s fifth studio album Dawn FM, which hit the shelves on January 7th. It featured collaborations with Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, and Lil Wayne and debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
