Mike Flanagan gave us one of the best horror series on Netflix with The Haunting of Bly Manor, but it looks like we won’t be getting any more chapters of this story. The acclaimed horror director discussed the future of this series on social media and said there isn’t a new season on the way.

This anthology series premiered on Netflix back in 2018 with The Haunting of Hill House, with the second chapter The Haunting of Bly Manor premiering this fall, but its future is uncertain because Flanagan wants to focus on other projects.

“At the moment there are no plans for more chapters. Never say never, of course, but right now we are focused on a full slate of other Intrepid [Pictures] projects for 2021 and beyond. If things change we will absolutely let everyone know,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Haunting may be over for now, but Flanagan has a couple more shows coming to Netflix very soon. His supernatural horror series Midnight Mass wrapped up production earlier this month, and he’s also developing an adaptation of The Midnight Club for this streaming service.
