Less than a week after The Kissing Booth 2 was released on Netflix, the streaming platform announced that a third movie is happening.
The Kissing Booth 3 was shot at the same time as the sequel and the filming is already complete. Currently, it’s in post-production and it’s set to premiere on Netflix in 2021.
The films are about a high school student (King) who falls for her best friend’s older brother (Elordi). The third movie will follow the couple’s relationship and it will pick up where the second film left off—with King deciding where to go for college.
Joey King, Jacob Elordi, Joel Courtney, Elordi, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and Molly Ringwald are set to return for the third film in the franchise.
“It was the hardest secret to keep,” Courtney said during a live YouTube event with the cast.
Even though the films haven’t had positive reviews from critics, they remain popular among teen viewers and the first film which was released in 2018, was one of Netflix’s most-rewatched original films that year.
