“This Is Us” Season 3 Story Revealed by Executive Producers

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia in "This Is Us"

Season two of Golden Globe Awards nominated NBC’s drama This Is Us just concluded with the final episode being aired on Monday night. The second season of the show was a rather sad one, leading us to find out the cause of Jack Pearson’s (Milo Ventimiglia) death. The third season, however, will tell us more about his life, according to show’s executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

“I think season two was so much about Jack’s death obviously, and I think season three, in a really cool way, is going to be more about his life and sort of focusing on these chapters that we haven’t yet seen,” revealed Berger during finale episode aftershow. “I think Jack has alluded to Rebecca that he has a lot of secrets and there are parts of his life that even she hasn’t been privy to, and we’re going to get to really explore those parts in a really exciting way.”

This is Us premiered in September 2016, revolving around the lives of two parents, Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore), and their children Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Randall (Sterling K Brown), who share their father’s birthday. The series takes place both in the present and in the past with the use of flashbacks.

After the success of This Is Us season one, the network immediately renewed the series for another two seasons. The season three is expected to have 18 episodes like the previous two, while premiering in September 2018. It is expected that the main cast will return, including Ventimiglia, who will appear as Jack in the flashback scenes.
