Star of the 2017’s comedy Girls Trip, Tiffany Haddish, has landed herself a new gig. The 38-year-old comedian announced on Thursday that she will be hosting the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards. Haddish posted a video on her Instagram account with the caption: “So I got some Great News Everybody! I will be hosting the MTV Movie and TV Awards.. make sure you watch Monday June 18th on MTV. The Awards will be in Los Angeles and it will be fun!”

In the video, Haddish promises that it will be “off the chain”, because she is hosting, of course. “It’s gonna be hilaaaarious….” – she added, and we have no reason to doubt her.

Check out her announcement video below.

2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards will be held on June 18, while the list of nominees and categories will be announced soon.

After participating on the comedy competition Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes?, Tiffany Haddish started off her acting career making guest appearances on TV shows like My Name Is Earl, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and That’s So Raven. Her big breakthrough eventually came with Girls Trip, in which she starred alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall. Haddish’s performance in the movie received widespread praise and set off her career in a big way. She did a Showtime comedy special titled Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood and landed the lead role in the TBS’ sitcom The Last O.G. We will also have an opportunity to see her in upcoming comedies Night School and Limited Partners.
