Where Greta Gerwig leads, Timothée Chalamet is prepared to follow.

The Oscar-nominated director and fellow Oscar-nominated actor formed a formidable duo in 2017’s Lady Bird which drew praise from audiences, critics, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The duo is not teaming up once again to work on Greta’s new project — Little Women.

The adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott novel will see Timothée assume the role of Laurie and star alongside Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper.

“I would do anything Greta wanted me to be a part of,” the Beautiful Boy actor told Variety. “I knew Little Women; I hadn’t read it. But I’ve read it since. I understood it to be a literary classic, but it’s crazy, day by day in the rehearsals, I get more imbued in the legend of it all. We’re shooting in the Massachusetts area where it was written, so we have a lot of people on the crew or that are just around that, like, the book is very dear to their heart and to their youths, as well.”

Filming of Little Women has recently begun, ahead of its release in December 2019.
