After two years in the making, Dune: Part Two is hitting the theaters this fall, and we finally know what to expect once it arrives. The first trailer for this sci-fi epic sees Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya heading back to the desert, where they’re forced to face giant sandworms and sinister new villains.

According to the official logline, Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. He must choose between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe while trying to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

In addition to Chalamet and Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, and Charlotte Rampling will reprise their roles from the first film. The sequel will introduce Austin Butler as the film’s sinister new villain, with Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux in supporting roles.

Dune: Part Two will be released on November 3 by Warner Bros. Pictures, and Villeneuve expressed interest in directing another follow-up if this one does well. Prequel series Dune: The Sisterhood is also in development at HBO Max.
