It’s impossible to imagine the Mission: Impossible franchise without Tom Cruise and, fortunately, we won’t have to. The three-time Oscar nominee confirmed he’ll play our favorite action hero Ethan Hunt in additional two movies.

Cruise shared the amazing news by posting a short teaser video on his Twitter. The two upcoming movies in this popular franchise will be filmed back to back and they should hit theaters sometime in 2020 and 2021.

That’s pretty much the only thing we know about them at this point – apart from the fact they’ll be directed by Christopher McQuarrie. He’s Cruise’s frequent collaborator, who already worked on the previous two installments in this series – Rogue Nation and Fallout.

Unlike the majority of action franchises, Mission: Impossible never lost its groove and only got better as the years went by. Sixth installment, which came out last year, received rave reviews and has been described as the best film in this franchise.

Making a better action movie than Fallout sounds like a mission impossible, but Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie are the dream team that could get this done.
