Tom Hanks’ “News of the World” to be Released on Christmas 2020

Tom Hanks will star in a new adaptation to Paulette Jiles novel News of the World, and now the movie gets a release date. The movie will be directed by Paul Greengrass and will be released on Christmas 2020 – December 25.

The movie is set closely after the end of the civil war. It follows Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd, played by hanks. The war veteran meet a 10-year-old girl, played by Helena Zengel, who was raised by Native Americans from the Kiowa tribe. Kidd is trusted for bringing the girl to her aunt against the child’s will.

Though they are off to a rocky start, the unlikely duo manages to form a bond along the hundreds of miles long way through the unforgiving wilderness.

News of the World was originally a Fox 2000 film, but it was transferred to Universal after the merger between Fox and Disney. the movie will be produced by hanks along with Gary Goetzman, and Gail Mutrux. Luke Davies will write the script.
