Is there anything Tom Hanks can’t do?

The two-time Oscar winner was recently starring in a performance of Henry IV by William Shakespeare at the Veterans Affairs’ West Los Angeles campus.

During the play, one of the audience members passed out, leading to a 15 minute break during which medical personnel attended to him.

And just what did the 61-year-old actor do?

He kept the audience’s attention so that the crew of the show — which is compromised of military veterans with medical training — could treat the ill audience member without interruption.

It is possible that the improvisation by Tom (who played Knight John Falstaff in the play) was some of his finest work as he stayed in character and had the crowd in stitches with ad-lib lines such as he declared, “No intermission brew for you!” and scolded those who attempted to leave: “Scurvy rogues… An insult to all actors and to Shakespeare himself.”

Bravo!
