Jeff Nichols never struggled to attract A-list actors to his projects and his next film will be no exception. Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, and Austin Butler are set to lead the cast of his upcoming drama The Bikeriders.

Based on Danny Lyon’s 1967 book of the same name, this film chronicles the origin story of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club during the ’60s. What starts as a gathering place for local outsiders gradually evolves into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.

Nichols rose to prominence with movies Take Shelter and Mud, but we haven’t seen him helm a new project since 2016 when he directed the sci-fi film Midnight Special and historical drama Loving. He was attached to A Quiet Place: Day One but exited the project last year to focus on another film he was developing at Paramount Pictures.

The star-studded cast of The Bikeriders has also been keeping busy in recent months. Hardy most recently appeared in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and he’s attached to Gareth Evans’ Havoc and Andrew Dominik’s War Party. Butler is fresh off the success of Elvis and we’ll soon get to see him in Dune: Part 2. As for Comer, she recently received an Emmy nomination for the final season of Killing Eve and she’ll next star in the HBO series Big Swiss.
