The Life of Chuck is Stephen King’s latest short story to be adapted to the silver screen, and its cast is shaping up to be pretty amazing. Tom Hiddleston & Mark Hamill have been attached to star in this project before it hits the Cannes market latest this month.

The Life of Chuck was published as one of the short stories in King’s anthology If It Bleeds, and it consists of three separate stories. They’re told in reverse chronological order, capturing the life of Charles Krantz from his brain tumor at 39 to the childhood he spent in what seems to be a haunted house.

The Life of Chuck isn’t the first story from If It Bleeds to receive Hollywood treatment. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone was adapted into a Netflix movie starring Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell, while Rat was optioned by Ben Stiller, who’s planning to produce, star, and direct a film based on this short story.

Tom Hiddleston most recently starred in The Essex Serpent alongside Claire Danes, and he’ll soon return for the second season of the Disney+ series Loki. Mark Hamill recently reprise the role of Luke Skywalker in several Star Wars projects, and he’ll next star in Netflix’s adaptation of The Fall of the House of Usher.
