The box office didn’t quite go to infinity and beyond this weekend, but it did soar pretty close.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear finally returned to the big screen as Toy Story 4 made its debut on June 21. The last time we saw the characters was almost a decade ago in 2010.

Be it nostalgia for adults who grew up in the ’90s, or those very same adults who are now parents and taking their kids to the movies, the fourth installment in the toy franchise proved to be a hit at the domestic box office.

Toy Story 4 opened at 4,575 theaters across the United States and brought in $118 million. While the figure was far below the estimated $140 million, it still secured the film as one of the biggest animated openings of all time behind Incredibles 2, Finding Dory, and Shrek the Third.

The movie, starring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Tony Hale, and Keanu Reeves, also bested its predecessor Toy Story 3 which drew in $110.3 million.

The global box office addition of $120 million has elevated the total weekend’s earnings to $238 million, which is more than just fun and games.
