Dani Harmer will be reprising her role as the iconic Tracy Beaker in an upcoming BBC series.
Harmer played Tracy Beaker for several years in the CBBC series of the same name. The series was based on the novels by Jacqueline Wilson and followed a young girl and her life in the care system aka “the dumping ground.”
In 2018, Wilson wrote a follow-up book titled My Mum Tracy Beaker. The show follows the grown-up Tracy navigate her relationship with her 12-year-old daughter, Jess.
Speaking about the project with The Sun, Harmer said: “I can’t wait to return again to the role of Tracy. I’m a fan myself and want to know what happens next and where this journey takes her.
“Being a mother, I know how much it changes you. So I’m looking forward to seeing how it has changed Tracy but still keeping her the same feisty, strong female lead that people know and love.”
The spin-off series currently has no release date and will air on BBC.
