The new trailer for Brightburn has unexpectedly landed, along with an unsettling depiction of Superman, unlike any we have seen before.
The trailer shows a spaceship crashing to Earth along with a baby, who looks human. A couple who have been unsuccessfully trying for a baby, believe their prayers have finally been answered and take the baby under their wing. His adopted mother reminds him that he is “special”, but it soon becomes clear that “special” is not always positive.
The chilling trailer is extremely promising and delves into the superhero genre in a way we have never seen before. We’ve seen the good guy defeat big scary villains but this time, Superman is the bad guy and we don’t know who we will be rooting for.

Brightburn will be released in cinemas May 24, 2019.
