Mike Tyson went down in history as one of the most iconic and controversial boxers of all time and he’s getting TV treatment in a new Hulu series. Trevante Rhodes channeled his inner Kid Dynamite in the first trailer for Mike and he’s pulling no punches in this intense promotional clip.

The story follows Tyson’s life in and out of the ring, chronicling everything from his troubled childhood to his criminal offenses. The trailer opens with snippets showing some of his pivotal moments, accompanied by Rhodes’s narration.

“Who am I? People just see an animal. They call me a savage. I’m the most vicious, ruthless champion there’s ever been. No one can match me. My style’s impetuous. I’m ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat your children. Praise be to Allah… Is that who I am?”

Mike Tyson is a pretty controversial subject for a high-profile biopic, but we’re keeping our hopes up because the creative team behind this project is pretty impressive. The screenwriter of I, Tonya, Steven Rogers, created the series. Karin Gist serves as a showrunner, and she claims this show “is not supposed to be a love letter or an indictment”, showing all sides of Iron Mike instead.

Mike will premiere on August 25, and its cast also includes Laura Harrier, Russell Hornsby, Harvey Keitel, and Li Eubanks.
