It’s been a month since Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande surprised us with their collab “Dance To This,” but this epic duo is a gift that keeps on giving. The video for their hit song just dropped it’s jam-packed with dozens of nostalgic references.

According to Sivan’s tweet, this must-watch instant classic was inspired by movies High School Musical and Grease. The song “Pass This On” by the Knife and a GIF of Cher spinning around were also major influences. The clip opens with a young singer sitting in a recreation hall, surrounded by people who are bored out of their minds.

He tries to lighten up the mood by bringing a CD to a man with a boombox, but the crowd isn’t too impressed by his performance. Ariana Grande is the only one who seems to care and she gleefully joins him on stage. Confused onlookers eventually leave the room, but that doesn’t stop the two from dancing their hearts out.

“Dance To This” is the third single from Sivan’s sophomore album Bloom, which is set to be released on August 31. It seems 2018 will be a good year for 23-year-old artist who will also make a movie comeback in November. He’ll play a supporting role in Oscar hopeful Boy Erased alongside Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, and Russell Crowe.
