“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” is Saying Goodbye After Season 4

Ellie Kemper and Tituss Burgess in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"

Kimmy Schmidt might be unbreakable, but her show run is not.

After 3 years of the adorable cult escapee, her crazy boss, and sassy roommate, the forthcoming season will be the show’s last.

The Netflix series, co-created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, stars Ellie Kemper as 29-year-old Kimmy who moves to New York City in an attempt to restart her life after being kept in a bunker for 15 years by a crazy preacher.

The show has received 16 Emmy nominations since its inception in 2015, including nods for the titular actress.

But, worry not fans, Deadline has reported that Kimmy and her friends will go off with a big movie-length bang! Fey and Carlock are expected to write the movie once work has concluded on the upcoming 4th season.

The final season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be shown in two parts, with the initial six episodes premiering on the 30th of May, and the remaining seven at a later date.

When asked how she wanted the series to end, Kemper told E! Online, “I would want to see her with a lot of friends and doing stuff that makes her happy because she deserves that after having such a tumultuous time.”
