Will it ever see the light of day? The long-awaited Uncharted movie just hit another bump with yet another director, Travis Knight, leaving the project.

Since the beginning of the movie’s active development back in 2008, the project had seen David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, and Shawn Levy as the attached directors. It seems now that Sony will push back the movie’s release date and is now looking for a new director.

The project has hit other hurdles along the way. the most recent is due to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man scheduling which interfered with the production. Holland is still due to wear the webslinger’s suit this summer and him and his co-star Mark Wahlberg are still on board for the project. Wahlberg was originally meant to star in the film, but he is now supposed to play Sully – a mentor for Drake – Holland’s main character.

Although both Uncharted and Spider-Man are important to Sony, it’s obvious that Spider-Man will take precedence over the struggling film. Spider-Man: Far From Home is the highest-grossing film of all time for the studio and fans are eager to see the continuation of Peter Parker’s adventures.
