The box office is slowly recovering after one of its most devastating years in history, but studios are still trying to make the best of it by strategically shifting the release dates of their highly-anticipated projects. Universals’ Boss Baby sequel and The Bad Guys are amongst the latest movies to get a major release date delay.

The Boss Baby: Family Business was supposed to premiere on March 26th, 2021 but there has been a change of plan. Its release date has been shifted to September 17th, 2021 and it will end up taking the slot from another animated movie.

The movie in question is Universal Pictures’ The Bad Guys—an animated heist comedy about a team of misunderstood villains who decide to leave the life of crime and use their powers for good. Its release date is yet to be announced, but it’s now expected to premiere in 2022. The movie’s voice cast includes the likes of Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, and Marc Maron.
