There’s been a lot of rumors surrounding upcoming reboot of Charlie’s Angels, but we’re finally getting some official information. Power Rangers star Naomi Scott will reportedly play one of the lead roles in this promising summer blockbuster.
Scott had her breakthrough playing Pink Power Ranger in 2017. It seems this movie’s disappointing box office performance won’t stop her from becoming a big star. Charlie’s Angels isn’t the only promising project she’s attached to right now. Scott will also play Jasmine in Disney’s live-action remake of the classic animated movie Aladdin. Long story short – 2019 will definitely be her year!
Ever since Sony Pictures announced they are bringing Charlie’s Angels back to the big screen, casting speculations started flying around. Elizabeth Banks will direct the upcoming reboot, and she’ll also be playing the part of the private detective Bosley. Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o are set to play two of the leads, but nothing is official just yet. Black Panther star is still in talks at this point and the clock is slowly ticking.
Filming was already pushed back once, but it’s expected to finally start in September and wrap up by January.
Are we getting another unnecessary remake or a hilarious homage that will go down in history as the best Charlie’s Angels movie ever made? We won’t get the answer before June 7, 2019, when it officially hits the theaters.
