This Is Us are about to see a lot more of Deja.

Lyric Ross who plays Deja, the teenage girl Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) took in, has been promoted from recurring guest star to a full-time cast member on NBC’s hit series.

Ross impressed both her co-star and critics earning a Teen Choice Award nomination earlier this year for breakout TV star.

“She’s so nuanced,” Watson told EW.  “I like that she doesn’t try to act it. She really does just speak and feel out a situation and sense a situation. And so it’s this beautiful, nuanced, soft performance that doesn’t feel performative…. She’s just a very special young actress.”

The Season 2 finale included some major moments for Deja who moved in full time with Randall and Beth. She also lashed out after being abandoned (again) by her biological mother during Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan) wedding.

Another actress who was promoted to series regular is Melanie Liburd who plays Beth’s cousin — and Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) girlfriend in a flash-forward sequence.

The Third Season of This Is Us premieres September 25.
