Vanessa Kirby won us over with her touching performance in The Crown, but she’s finally ready to ditch all those tiaras and fancy dresses. She just joined the cast of The Fast and the Furious spin-off, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham.

The upcoming summer blockbuster called Hobbs and Shaw will focus on an unlikely alliance between two fan favorites. It’s still unclear why are they teaming up, but director David Leitch is promising a movie full of surprises. We can always expect a lot of twists and turns when Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw happen to be together.

It seems they’ll be getting some company since Vanessa Kirby just joined the cast. Idris Elba is also cast to play the main villain.

Kirby rose to prominence as Princess Margaret in period drama The Crown. After Netflix decided to shake things up and replace the cast, the actors started looking for new exciting roles. Just like her on-screen sister Clair Foy, Kirby refused to be a victim of typecasting. She searched for characters that aren’t even close to royalty and that’s exactly what she found. BAFTA-nominee was already cast in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and it’s just a matter of time before she joins another action blockbuster. The girl is on fire!
