If you hoped to see the highly anticipated superhero flick Venom: Let There Be Carnage next month, then brace yourself for some bad news. The movie has been delayed once again, with Sony Pictures announcing that the movie will now hit the theaters on October 15th. The previous release date was September 23rd.

The move was previously hinted at when the new trailer for the movie debuted in early August. The trailer came without a release date and only stated that the feature would be “exclusively in movie theaters this fall.”

This marks the third time that Venom: Let There Be Carnage is delayed. The sequel to the 2018 blockbuster hit was originally scheduled for release in October 2020. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic caused the studio to push the release date to June 2021 and then to September 2021.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy in the role of journalist Eddie Brock, who serves as a host to alien symbiote Venom. The story picks up one year after the events of the original movie and sees Brock and Venom learning to co-exist in the same body. But they will have to set aside their difference as the new threat is lurking. Serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) escaped prison after becoming host to symbiote Carnage and is set on destroying everything and everyone standing in his way.
