We’ve got several successful TV revivals in the last few years, and it seems Veronica Mars will be next. The snarky private investigator is ready to return to our small screens, and sublime Kristen Bell will still be playing her.

This teen noir series first premiered back in 2004 and generated a cult following in the years to come. We currently live in the era of constant reboots and revivals, but Veronica Mars was actually one of the very first titles to get brought back to life thanks to its devoted fandom.

Kristen Bell and showrunner Rob Thomas launched a campaign to raise money for a feature film about Mars in 2013. They reached the $2 million goal in less than eleven hours, and eventually collected a total of $5.7 million. The movie they made using that money became one of Kickstarter’s biggest success stories.

The cult favorite is making another comeback, this time as an eight-episode limited series at Hulu. Bell will reprise her role as the titular character, despite her commitments to NBC’s hit comedy The Good Place. There’s also been talk about bringing back other cast members from the original series and follow-up movie, but nothing is official just yet.
