Fans of Batwoman were heartbroken after Ruby Rose announced her departure from the show, but she will be replaced by a worthy successor. The British actress Wallis Day will take over the role of Kate Kane in the ongoing second season.

Unlike Rose, Day will not portray the actual Batwoman, because Ryan Wilder played by Javicia Leslie took over the cape from Kate Kane. She’s still excited to play this character and re-join the DC family after starring in SyFy’s Superman-themed series Krypton.

“It’s a huge responsibility stepping into the shoes of a character that’s already been established and it’s a journey I’m looking forward to being a part of and hoping you guys do too,” wrote Wallis Day on Instagram.

In addition to Krypton, Day’s filmography also includes the British soap opera Hollyoaks and drama series The Royals. She’s currently attached to the sci-fi thriller Infinite, also starring Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, set to come out this fall.
