Want to Live in “Downton Abbey”? Try AIRBNB

Are you an AIRBNB user? Do you love Downton Abbey? Now you have the opportunity to combine those two and “live like the lord or lady of a stately home” as Highclere Castle in Hampshire, the castle where the series was filmed in, is renting rooms via the house booking site.

According to the ad, two guests will get to stay in one of the 300 rooms of the castle and be treated like royalty on November 26. The price for the deal is 150 pounds and it includes an evening of cocktails in the saloon and a traditional dinner in the estate dining room – with a butler service, of course. Then, after coffee in the library, the guests retire to one of the principal bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom and views over 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of rolling parkland.

“Throughout the stay, Lord and Lady Carnarvon will immerse the guests in the rich history and heritage of Highclere Castle with a private tour of the castle, the Highclere estate,” the ad says.

Reservation can be made from October 1 on and the applicants will have to prove their passion for the show as well as have good recommendations from earlier AIRBNB hosts. You should also notice the listing does not include WiFi or TV.
