The cancelation of the Netflix series Warrior Nun was a huge blow for its loyal fans, but we haven’t seen the last of it just yet. The show’s executive producer Dean English announced that Warrior Nun will return as a trilogy of movies following its shocking cancelation.

English shared the exciting update on the website dedicated to saving the show and thanked the fans for their continued support.

“I need to start by thanking all of you loyal fans. It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories… I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures,” he wrote in a statement.

English couldn’t share any further details about this project due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood and simply said there will be more news about this growing franchise in the future.

Warrior Nun was based on the comic book character created by Ben Dunn, and it ran on Netflix for two seasons before being canceled last year. It centered on a 19-year-old woman (Alba Baptista) who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life, only to discover she’s now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth.
