Two well-loved Canadian musicians shared the stage for the first time this weekend.

In mid-July, Drake announced that he would perform an exclusive three concert series in his hometown of Toronto. Despite taking place in July and August, the concerts were entitled the “October World Weekend” and marked the first leg of the Road to OVO Fest Tour—a worldwide edition of OVO Fest to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

Notable names had already been placed on the bill such as Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Lil Baby, but a surprise guest thrilled the crowds on the first night.

The “Massive” rapper brought on stage fellow Canadian artist, Nelly Furtado, giving high praise to the Grammy Award winner.

I don’t care how loud you sang tonight…” Drake told his fans. “Right now I need you to sing as loud as you possibly can because this right here took a lot… This next person’s music changed my life so much. I love her with all my heart, so when she comes out here you better show her some f***ing love, too.”

Together, Nelly and Drake performed her hits “I’m Like A Bird” and “Promiscuous”.
