First “Bill & Ted Face the Music” Trailer is Here

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in "Bill & Ted Face the Music"

The long-awaited sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music has finally released its first trailer.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the first movie from the franchise, debuted in 1989 and was a box office hit. The sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, was released in 1991. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter return for the third movie in the franchise which is set 29 years after Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

The new trailer shows Reeves and Winter reprising their roles as time-traveling best friends who are now middle-aged. A visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save the world and that they must travel to the future to get the song for themselves. While taking the journey, they are helped by their daughters, new historical figures, and musical legends.

Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) directed and Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon served as screenwriters. The latter two also wrote Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

The film has been in the works since 2010 and it plans to still be released August 21, despite the toll the coronavirus has taken on the movie industry.
