Amazon Prime Video has released the official trailer for Chemical Hearts, a coming-of-age drama starring Lili Reinhart and Austin Abrams.
The film is based on Krystal Sutherland’s novel Our Chemical Hearts which follows 17-year-old Henry Page (Abrams), a hopeless romantic. He’s set on becoming the editor in chief of his high school paper and getting into a good college until Grace Town (Reinhart) joins his class. He ends up falling for her, even though they are complete opposites.
“You are never more alive than when you’re a teenager,” Henry says in the trailer. “Your brain is flush with chemicals that can turn your life into a story of epic proportions, and yet, by the start of my senior year, nothing interesting had ever happened to me. Then something finally happened.”
Richard Tanne (Southside With You) wrote, directed, and produced Chemical Hearts. Kara Young, C.J. Hoff, Sarah Jones, Adhir Kalyan, and Bruce Altman also star in the film.
Chemical Hearts is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on August 21.
