Martin Freeman is back in the first trailer for the forthcoming British crime drama A Confession.
According to Entertainment Weekly, in A Confession, the Sherlock alum plays Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher, who is investigating the disappearance of 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan and piecing together her last movements before she vanished. Believing Sian may still be alive and held against her will, Fulcher initiates an urgent full-scale search operation. Through diligent and painstaking police work, Fulcher and his team discover CCTV footage of Sian in the High Street, which leads to vital clues in the investigation. Racing against time, Fulcher edges closer to a chief suspect, local taxi driver Christopher Halliwell, and ultimately finds himself standing on the precipice of a life-changing choice between following police protocol and catching a killer.
Also starring is Siobhan Finneran (Stan & Ollie)and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter).
A Confession is directed by Paul Andrew Williams from a script by Jeff Pope.
A Confession, which premiered in ITV in 2019, premieres on BritBox in May.
