Originally released back in December, we finally get a music video for “Don’t Waste My Time,” Usher’s collaboration with Ella May. The Lesean Harris-directed video sees the duo enjoying a lavish party, and they’re joined by several other celebrity guests, including Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri.
After joining forces with Summer Walker for his last single, Usher decided to team up with another emerging R&B star – Ella Mai, who is featured on his new track “Don’t Waste My Time”. When he first started working on this song, Usher felt it was missing a female perspective; when Ella Mai came on board and made the whole thing 100% better.
“We flipped it up, changed the second verse to a female’s story, and I felt like she was great for it. I reached out to her, and it took a minute, but we finally managed to get in the room with each other, and the rest is becoming history,” Usher told Billboard.
