Are you a student at the University of Texas? Well, you’re in luck. One of your next professors could be no other than the Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey.

Universities often grant professor’s positions to people who don’t have PhDs but have the experience and skills needed in the field. McConaughey, EW reports, has just been granted this kind of position and was appointed as a professor of practice at UT Austin’s Department of Radio-Television-Film.

The course teached by McConaughey is called “Script to Screen” and it uses the actor’s films as case studies to demonstrate the process of film production. McConaughey has actually been a visiting instructor in the course for four years now and helped developing its curriculum. Now the position became permanent.

The classes this coming semester will focus on the upcoming The Gentlemen and on 2013’s film Mud. The actor seems very excited about his new job. “It’s the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them,” he wrote.
