Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the Stephen King novel Doctor Sleep is in talks to add another A-lister to its cast.
Variety reports that Westworld’s star Zahn McClarnon is in talks to join the sequel to the horror classic The Shining. If Zahn were to join the production he will star opposite Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson. According to the outlet, McClarnon would portray Crow Daddy, the right-hand man of Ferguson’s character.
Doctor Sleep follows an adult Danny Torrance (McGregor) as he battles alcoholism and deals with the trauma of childhood events. A spitting image of his murderous father, Danny battles with alcoholism but as he embraces sobriety, he is presented with an opportunity to use the shining power helping the dying at a hospice.
Mike Flanagan, who helmed the adaptation of King’s Gerald’s Game for Netflix has been tapped to direct.
Warner Bros. has scheduled the film for January 24, 2020.
