What We Do in the Shadows is one of the most unique comedies we sunk our teeth into in recent years, but its ending is finally in sight. Our favorite Staten Island vampires will bid the world farewell in the sixth and final season of the beloved FX series.

Inspired by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s 2014 film of the same name, this series expanded the What We Do in the Shadows universe and shifted the setting to New York City’s Staten Island. Just like the original film, this FX series saw a group of vampires coping with the complexities of modern life, but it centered on brand-new characters.

The series revolves around the lives of vampire roommates Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they clash with the modern world and other supernatural beings in New York City.

What We Do in the Shadows became a true critical darling following its premiere in 2019, and went on to score 21 Emmy nominations, including two nods for the outstanding comedy series.

FX is yet to announce the release date of the final season, but it’s safe to expect it would feature 10 episodes like the previous five.
