The movie followed Whoopi Goldberg as lounge singer Deloris Wilson who is forced to pose as a nun after witnessing a murder. It grossed 230 million dollars around the world and garnered a less successful yet fun sequel, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

Now, 17 years later, Goldberg has confirmed that a threequel is in the making. The actress, who is now a co-host of The View, appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden and was asked about the possibility of a third movie. Goldberg claimed that for years it seemed like there is no demand for such a movie. However, in recent years things have changed.
