Season 5 of The Conners is airing as we speak and upcoming episodes will feature an exciting new cast member. The EGOT-winner Whoopi Goldberg will guest star in the ongoing fifth season of ABC’s Roseanne sequel series later this spring.

Goldberg will take on the role of Ms. Glen, Mark’s (Ames McNamara) intimidating music teacher, who goes way back with another member of the Conner family. She’ll appear on the show in the guest starring capacity, and it’s unclear how many episodes she’s going to star in.

Goldberg has been serving as the moderator and co-host of The View for the past 15 years, but she’s yet to say goodbye to acting. She most recently starred in Harlem and Star Trek: Picard, and we’ll soon get to see her in Neil Gaiman’s series adaptation of Anansi Boys.

The new season of The Conners sees Dan (John Goodman), Jackie (Laurie Metcalf), Darlene (Sara Gilbert), and Becky (Lecy Goranson) face the daily struggles of life in Lanford, as they try to grapple with parenthood, dating, financial pressures and aging in working-class America.

The Conners premiered in 2018, and its fifth season is currently airing on ABC. It will feature a total of 22 episodes and it’s set to end its run on May 31.
