Will Arnett will star in a new comedy that will follow the off-the-field misadventures of three young soccer players. He will be joined by Chris Geere and the two will star as the chairman and coach of an English soccer team.
The comedy for the BBC hails from the producers of The Inbetweeners, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley. The two will be penning the new six-part series titled The First Team.
The three soccer players will be portrayed by Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Jack McMullen and Jake Short. Tamla Kari, Vadhir Derbez, Phil Wang, Neil Fitzmaurice, and Yetunde Oduwole round out the cast.
Morris and Beesley said in a statement: “We’re so lucky to be working with such an incredible bunch, some new faces and some we’ve worked with over the years, all making us laugh enormously.”
